DAY 20 were did the time go?
Day 20 was a great food day! I made turnip fries and they were awesome!!
Breakfast I had the crispy cereal with 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. I ate them right away and they were delicious little crunchy cereal! Kept me full and satisfied until afternoon!
Lunch was the cheese and broccoli and cheese soup with 2 cups of broccoli and cauliflower mix. I made this for my husband as well and he enjoyed the meal!
Super was my favourite! I started by preparing the turnip fries!!!! Look at that picture don't they look like potatoes!
I had made flank steak with steak spice and salt added mushrooms on top I cooked it in my creuset a cast iron covered pot. I browned both sides and stuck in the oven for 20 min it was a thick steak roast.
I took the meat out and put the sauce to thicken with the mushroom on a burner.
Recipe for turnip fries by Nadine
With a medium turnip peale and sliced in fries size
put them in a bowl were to salted and spiced them with cajun spice
and added a little oil and mixed placed them on a foiled pan.
cooked for about 1 hour at 425 degrees.
Checked on them and flip them after 20 min.
Check in another 20-25 min depending on the size of your fries
Take them out when they were golden and the edges were getting dark brown.
ENjoy!
For my snack I had the apple spice soy snacks they had an awesome little crunch. I like to eat 1 at a time and enjoy every one of them they didn't really have a apple flavour to me more like a cinnamon cereal crunch flavour very enjoyable!
Have a great day!

DAy 19 Evening temptations :D
Saturday's are usually a busy day so I planned ahead for my meals and a made some decisions for success!!
Here's what I did :)
Breakfast was a Ideal protein plain omelette cooked to perfection! These omeletes might not have the usual egg texture but man they keep me full and satisfied until 12 o clock! Great for someone who wants a filling breakfast and perhaps has a active morning!
For lunch Hello fresh delicious veggies! I had a large salad with celery, yellow and red peppers and a pickle to finish. A little sea salt and 1tsp of olive oil..I'm in love again! For my protein I had the pineapple and banana juice. It's sweet and fruity it had a little after taste but it was so nice to have something juicy and fruity and I am not use to having something so sweet! It brought me bad to my childhood of making canned banana fruit punch which I think was my brothers favourite.
My super was a large salad with chicken breast it was awesome!!!!!!!!! So my suggestion is when you get bored go to the grocery store with your phase 1 sheet and look at veggies you can have. Whatever looks appealing to you go for it. The change is great in your veggie selection!
So I had the oatmeal for a snack you might find this interesting but this was my survivor strategy for my saturday evening! I was invited to a usual monthly vegetarian potluck. This potluck is always filled with culinary talents that bring amazing delights we're talking : pumpkin pie, chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies, veggie burgers, potato salad, scallop potato (that was some last night menu). So we went a little later than usual and I was full of oatmeal and I stayed as far away from the food and focused on good company and conversation!
I survived and my pancreas thanks me! So tip of the day make a plan of action with strategies and have a friend that supports you in your healthy lifestyle change. Go out and have fun!

Day 18 Grocery store to the rescue!
DAy 18
I am honestly tired of salad! Mind you I've been very plain on the ingredients so yesterday I went to the grocery store for some veggies and protein. Now I am a happy girl again. Here are some things that I picked up :Tomato, bell peppers, radishes...forgot some kale but next time!
For breakfast I had the berry yogurt drink it was delicious if you're a yogurt shake kind of person. It had bits of berries very nice consistency a nice change and it was gone pretty quick. I will admit I was hungry earlier that usual so if you're a person who likes a big breakfast maybe have this for a lunch or a snack. If you're a light breakfast person the perfect choice for you!
Lunch I had the veggie chili on top of my lettuce I would add more veggies to this next time. It reminded me of wendy's tex/mex salad with the chili on top. I would add peppers next time!
For super as you can see I had a colourful salad with red onion multi coloured peppers a little parsley pesto that I made last week on top of my chicken and I put radishes in the oven. If you've never had oven roasted radishes you're in for a treat!
Snack time was the butterscotch pudding. What a great snack it has a nice caramel flavour! I am really enjoying the puddings they really satisfy the night time snacker in me :)
Nadine's Oven Roasted Radishes
Oven at 400 degrees
Rinse trim ends and cut in half a bag of radishes
Add 1tbsp of olive oil mix and put in the over for 20 mins covered with foil.
Check and stir add 1tbsp of soya sauce and green onions cook for another 10-20 mins
depending on the size of your radishes.
Cooking them removes the bitter hot taste of the radish great winter dish!
If you have picked up radishes with the greens on top you can turn that into a pesto!
In blender add garlic onion and radish tops mix with 2 tbsp of olive oil and add lemon juice salt and pepper to taste. I add it to top of meat or add water it would be a nice salad dressing with added spices!
OK I love Radishes ( you don't hear that very often)
Let me know what you think of the recipe :)
Have a great day!

Day 17.....Planning Meals and losing weight!!!
So today I had a hard time with my super I brought to work. I really didn't have much in the fridge and I really like warm food when it's cold so I will make more of an effort the next few days to change up my veggies and get some great proteins...at the grocery store!!!
For breakfast I had the cheese and herb Omelet again issues with my flipping but it taste great and that is what matters!
For lunch I had the leek soup on top of broccoli and cauliflower let's just say it was my winning meal of the day! The it's warm creamy and a great sauce for the veggies!
For super I had made a tofu mayo with my leftover soft tofu and I spread it on celery and bok choy. I would say this would be a great summer super but I really wanted something heavy in the belly warm protein...gimme meat! A a lovely salad with a wonderful vinaigrette.
For super I had the milk chocolate pudding Hello the best pudding so far. The puddings are very filling perfect for a night time snack. They are not chalky for a pre mix pudding!
We have some ideal protein cook books I am going to look over them and see what I can create for a supper they have some great food selection. Things I've never though of so I will be posting some great ideas for you so check out tomorrow's for my Tex/Mex salad for lunch :)
I am going to try something new for every meal !
See you tomorrow!

Day 16 Check out my weight loss the SCALE IS GOING DOWN!
So I am 2 weeks into the program and I have lost 13.1 Lbs and 9.25 inches!!!! It is very exciting to see the change in my body! Here are some of the benefits of the ideal protein system.
- Quick weight loss without sacrificing muscle mass
- An understanding of how food affects and is utilized by the body, including what causes fat storage
- Improved skin tone by providing the skin nutrients it needs
- Utilization of stored fat for energy usually by day 4 — fat, (along with cellulite) that contains chemical toxins
- Improved energy, appetite control and reduced cravings — usually on day 4 or 5
- Improved blood sugar, cholesterol levels and reduced blood pressure
For breakfast I had the plain omelette It was nice and fluffy. This meal keeps me full until 12 o'clock!
For lunch I had the mushroom soup and I added a cup of mushroom it was delicious. I also had the white bok choy and celery with a little salt!
For super I had the left over bok choy soup and for the protein I added soft tofu it was like a miso soup but very spicy!
For my snack I had a vanilla peanut bar probably the one thing I miss most because I would have peanut butter with an apple as a snack almost everyday so I am very happy that they have a lot of peanut butter snack!!!! I brought this snack with me for a girls night out for tea! It was lovely to hang out with my girlfriends and have a nice cup of tea out. It can hard to get out in January especially when you are changing your eating habits but well worth the laughs and great conversations!
Make sure you share with your friends the lifestyle changes so they can support you through your journey because you still want to be social. Also check out menus and make suggestions of place you feel comfortable eating with your friends. There are places that will accommodate your nutritional choices. Look for a healthy protein source and veggies, ask for the dressing on the side of your salad. You can search a lot of restaurant menu's on-line!
Have a great day!

day 15! It's creative chocolate muffin day!
My clothing is starting to feel pretty loose :D! That is a great feeling my energy level is very great I've got some get up and go which is very nice! I have a bok choy soup recipe for you to try it take 10 mins of cooking time! Great for cold weather!
For Breakfast I made the chocolate muffin this time I made it in a coffee mug! I cooked in the micro wave for 1min 30 sec and it turned out amazing! It was like a chocolate molten cake! So this is so great to start the morning with a chocolate muffin including 19 gr of protein can't beat that!
lunch I made a large salad with chilli it was delicious my salad had some pickles and pickled turnip I made in december a good crunch and a nice change! The chilli is very meaty in texture and the beans are a real treat I eat lots of legumes!
My super I was a little creative and made a bok choy soup
(10 leaves chopped up) with
3-5 cups of broth,
red chilli flakes( I put in 1 tsp a little to much so go with 1/4 tsp and add more later)
(onion powder and garlic powder 1 tsp each)
2-3 Tbsp soya sauce to you taste,
garlic and green onions chopped
and some chicken( you could add shrimp or tofu)
bring to a boil and simmer for 10 mins.
Topped with 1/2 a boiled egg and some green onion.
Knock the winter right out of you! It was a great way to get your veggies and a nice broth.
for my snack I had the lemon pudding these puddings are very filling! I find them more filling then the bar and light and airy the texture is not grainy it's more the air bubbles from the shaking that is the texture. Very nice for an evening snack the lemon is a great flavour too!

day14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO It's chicken gravy time!!!!
Still feeling very good and my metabolism has never been higher! I've noticed that if I do a lot in the day like a 30 min yoga DVD I get really hungry at night time so today is a day to relax and up the lettuce and change the veggie schedule!
For Breakfast I had the maple oatmeal I added some cinnamon because who doesn't like the smell of cinnabon??? That is exactly what my breakfast smelled like and it was fabulous in flavour! Warm and creamy texture perfect for a January morning!
Lunch I made chicken soup and pored it over my cooked veggies (green beans , broccoli and cauliflower) it was amazing and I highly recommend this technique to get your veggies!I call it the chicken gravy special!
For super I had a large salad with one egg and a 1/2 portion of chicken breast and I added some dill pickles.
For my snack I had the chocolate bar it was amazing! It had chocolate on top and bottom and a sticky chocolate underneath the chocolate ripple on top , underneath that it had a chocolate crunch texture. YUm!
I woke up last night thinking "you had oatmeal oh no not suppose to have a bar......" pudding next time!
Check out tomorrow, I am doing another chocolate muffin experiment and it's awesome...think of chocolate molten cake for breakfast you can't beat that!!!!!
