Day 61 and the scale says..........

crispy cereal

my big kitty LOKI!

meat balls and pickles with a side of mustard
I need a food designer for this one sorry

salty and sweet snack
So I will be weighing myself at work this morning but I went on my parents scale yesterday and it said I was down 30 lbs!!!WOoohooo! I also had lunch there due to my cat being ill. It is so amazing how stress can really affect your body and the choices you make. I really wanted a drink when I left my cat at the vet yesterday. I rarely want alcohol and I think this was the first time in the diet that I wanted some. It has made me realize how much I drink on the occasion. I am not the type of person to have a drink every week-end or am I? If it's around I would have one but I rarely go out to the liquor store. I would go more in the summer time. It just made me think the though came and went away. Anyway on to the food.

Breakfast was the crispy cereal with a touch of cinnamon. Yes I believe the soy crisp cereal pieces are larger!

lunch I had very late in the day 2pm my dad made me a delicious  large salad with 3 boiled eggs and a slice of ham. It was delicious and I wasn't really hungry for super.

Super 3 meatballs and 3 pickles and a little hot mustard. I was still full of veggies for lunch.

Loki's super was 1/2 can of white tuna and 1/4 cup of cooked quinoa with feline multi-vitamin. I think I'll be cooking the whole family the same thing very soon! His Tuna looked amazing. I am not one for canned fish but this was a large piece albacore white Tuna . It looked amazing I might have to try it soon LOL ! minus the feline vitamin.

My snack I had salty and sweet it is not the picture I have up there. So I will tell you what I had : the white cheddar ridges with 2 pieces of bar double chocolate bar and vanilla peanut bar. THis was in a container and went a little stail so if you split the chips try to have them sooner rather than later.

Day 60 Experimenting with new shake flavours and vinnie's soup recipe!

crispy cereal with a touch of cinnamon

salad and cream of chicken soup

New shake Banana Chocolate twist!

My friend Stephanie and I doing a workshop about our body and food connection! Starts march 28th!
Well that was a easy adjustment back into the program! I didn't have any regrets but even better I didn't have any desire to go off the rail the next day even when my husband was eating chocolate next to me it looked good but I didn't want it! Normally I would act like a 4 year old I want it because I want it and cry about it then I would be upset I ate it....so dramatic my inner 4 year old! I actually missed having my veggies!

Breakfast I had the crispy cereal and I'm not sure if it's just me but this cereal is in a new package and it seems to me the crispy cereal is a bigger size. As you know I love this breakfast! Cinnamon is so good for you and it helps lower your blood sugar! Great to have in the morning :D

For lunch I had a lovely romaine salad and a cream of chicken sop. It was the perfect meal for this kind of day. warm thick rich bowl of chicken goodness while you look out at a snowy landscape or the neighbours siding.

Supper was pork loin sliced and sauteed with a lot of button mushrooms. I topped my salad with this delicious!

For my snack I've been visiting some old favourites that I started the program with it's been 60 days I have to change it up a little. I made the banana chocolate twist shake!
I had 350 ml of water and mix a dark chocolate pudding mix and banana pudding mix in a blender. THen I added 8 ice cubes. IT's rich and creamy I must say it did give me a little indigestion it could be because I drank it some quick! It was delicious!

Vinnie Ideal Protein soup

8 cups of home made chicken stock
2 cups of white button mushrooms
1 red pepper
3 zucchini
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
1 cup of spinach

Heated the broth and added all the veggies.bring to a boil for 10 min and serve once the veggies are heated through!

When we have chicken we save the carcass and add it to 8 cups of water  add seasoning and simmer for 1 to 2 hours, strain bones. You can keep in the fridge or freeze it!

day 59th Fell off the wagon for a wonderful tea party but back on today!

Cake time!

 tea party

Party time I made it 59 days without sugar and wore a dress that has been in my closet for 4 years! Yahoo
So I did have some sugary treats and they tasted delicious I honestly didn't feel all that fabulous after. This was a birthday party for my friend Gary and Elizabeth they're my extended family! When Elizabeth told me she was having her famous tea party I new this was a day that I would not miss and like Mary Antoinette said let them eat cake! I did and then some I had a couple of finger sandwiches why not I started with the pineapple square might as well go for the gold. It was delightful and then I needed to lay down!

I did start my morning and a lunchtime snack of a ideal protein shake!

Ideal Protein Vanilla Strawberry twist shake!
1 package of vanilla pudding
1 package of strawberry pudding
350ml of water
mix everything in blender
add 8 ice cubes
serve for 2 meals!

It was delicious I highly recommend this for a breakfast and lunch.
you can put it in a large travel mug or a large mason jar for 1 meal!
Perfect for on the go!
I've really been upping my water yesterday as well!
I can't wait for lunch!
I am going to only eat the ideal protein super food for the rest of the week and I will be taking some Ideal protein food with me on my vacation.

Have a great day

day59 Keeping it on track!

crispy cereal

Vinnies ideal protein soup

bar buffet

Day 59 Saturday. It was a good food day! I've really been trying to be very aware of my food intake it's amazing how sugar can creep in. Like my husband offer me a sip of his tea and I look at him and ask is there sugar in that? Yes there was sugar darn it! I will now always ask before taking a bite from now on. So tomorrow's blog I will be going to an amazing birthday tea party! It's an event of the year for me and the food is just amazing! I will be having something there that is not on the protocol so I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. It was my goal since I've been invite to stay on protocol and after my vacation next week-end debauchery I will stay on stage 1 for about 90 days or so.
I've been off the lattes as well because I think that was the reason for not loosing as much this past week.

Breakfast was the crispy cereal. This breakfast I would probably still get if I wasn't on protocol!

Lunch was a new and improved flavour broccoli soup and a green salad. I must say i liked the flavour of the broccoli soup previously but the texture and flavour is completely different. I really like the improvement! Great Job Ideal protein! The broccoli piece are finer chopped and the texture reminds me of the potato puree soup!

SUpper I came home from work to a Vinnie Ideal protein veggie soup made with home made chicken broth! Then I sauteed sliced pork loin. Delicious I am a huge fan of home made soups!!

Snack time I had a trio of ideal protein bars: chocolate peanut, raspberry, vanilla chocolate and double chocolate. I really tried to savour it, it was so good and lots of different flavour! I was finishing a puzzle so I really tried to extend the snack time!

I will be experimenting with a new shake flavour you'll hear about it tomorrow. It's amazing!!! I will blog vinnie's soup soon!

Have a great day
Nadine :D

Day 58 th! Wearing size 10 pants!

crispy cereal

mushroom soup and a side of veggies

salad and chicken veggie stirfry

salty and sweet!
I've been trying to keep everything on track! It's not the time to get slack when you have goals and they are attainable! I have noticed that even though I am full sometimes my mind wants more not the tummy isn't that interresting. Well I will observe these toughs more. I have been doing some lovely meditation and that really seems to help me. I recommend a guided meditation cd:

Psychosomatic Wellness

Guided Meditations, Affirmations, and Music to Heal Your Bodymind

Candace Pert

is one of my favourites it's 25 mins long and you can listen to it in the morning or evening before you fall asleep.

On to the food

Day 57 STill on the ideal protein wagon! Still loosing too!

Chocolate and butterscotch pudding shake for breakfast and lunch!

winter veggies

broccolini and meatballs

salty and sweet snack!

After being on the ideal protein diet for 57 days I must say I've loosened the belt a little bit with some skinny sugar free vanilla lattes yes I had a few last week and I didn't get the number I wanted and a was slack on my water intake. No time to be slack results will not show themselves so on that note I will be diligent and strong this week! I am going on vacation next week-end and going to a party this sunday so I am a little scared of the temptations. THe Jeans I'm wearing right now are totally worth it!!! Gonna be strong and asses the choices is it worth it? Could I have this another time in the future? Is this nourishing my body? It's amazing how treating ourselves is such a reward system that can have a bad affect on our health!

Breakfast the amazing blend of 2 puddings to make 2 shakes for breakfast and lunch! I blended the dark chocolate pudding and butterscotch pudding. I believe I put 350 ml of water and 8 ice cubes! This was rich and creamy for both breakfast and lunch!

Lunch I also had some cooked winter vegetables of broccoli and cauliflower with some sea salt!

For super I had left overs of 2 pork meatballs and broccolini! Delicious!

Snack was the return of the salty and sweet the salt and vinegar ridges and chocolate soy snacks!

Have a great day

Day 56 you are what you eat!

crispy cereal

broccolini with shiitaki mushroom and pork meat balls

salty and sweet vinegar chips and chocolate soy puff

This weeks weight-in was not so successful in the number aspect but if you read my post yesterday I have not been drinking my water and thus I think I am holding on to some water weight because even though the number went down .2. My jeans are so much smaller and I could also be adding muscle at this point! So that was a little bit of a wakeup call for me this week and I am have a couple of events next week so I really need to be on my game to really see a difference in the scale.

Breakfast was my go to crispy cereal with a touch of cinnamon. The first time I tried this cereal i was not a fan but adding the cinnamon has really made a difference for me and I love the crunch and the fact I don't have to cook a omelet that can take 10 mins is great. I keep the omelet for week-ends and there also a great meal for lunch too!

Lunch I had one of the best meals in a whole steamed asparagus with leek soup as a gravy. This was filling and the flavours worked so well together. SUper yummy!

Supper I made pork meat balls these were so good. With Steamed broccolini and sauteed mushrooms beautiful meal! Recipe for the meat balls and broccolini at the bottom of this post!

Snack time I really couldn't decide so I had the best of both worlds Salty and Sweet!
The salt and vinegar chips 1/2 a package and the chocolate soy puffs 1/2 a package! THis is great for a treat like watching a movie!!!!!

Nadine's Pork meatballs
package of lean ground pork
1 tsp or more to your liking of onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper and a little cumin.
1tbsp of hot mustard (dijon)
mix and form into balls
You can cooked them on the stove top or in the oven at 350 degree 30-40 min depending on the size you make the meatballs.
the mustard leave a beautiful golden colour. Tasty!

Nadine's Broccolini ( this is italian broccoli it has long stems it's almost a cross between a asparagus with a broccoli head on top)

Steam Broccolini in a pot with 3 inches of water
cook until bright green and soft (yellow green you've over cooked them)
drain and add
grated fresh ginger
salt and pepper
1tsp 1/2 of sesame oil
and 1 Tbsp of sesame seeds
