SATURDAY & SUNDAY'S GREAT DAYS TOGETHER!

This Saturday I was on vacation! Yay! I have promised myself to not get near any malls and stores for the month of December unless it is very early on Sunday or Tuesday Morning!!!! This my friends has made me less stressed and much happier especially on my pocket book. I got to spend the day with friends!

I like to make my gifts for people I started knitting 11 years ago but in the last 2 years I've really developed great skills and it's made me more patient and my hands busy if I am watching TV instead of eating.  Knitting gives me great joy! It is important to find something you like to do that has that affect and uses your creativity and allows you to express yourself! A friend of mine who is 73 does photography and she is so passionate about it and she is extremely talented! It's great to look back and think about what you enjoyed as a child most likely you would still enjoy these things like painting, playing an instrument!

On Sunday I planned a holiday craft day this was the best craft day I could have imagined!! I made a veggie tray with everything but carrots that I could eat (broccoli, yellow pepper, celery). I set the event for 1:30 to 4:30 so we wouldn't focus on food. Invited anyone who was interested and was making something for christmas. We had a crocheter, a lumor, 3 knitters, a beader, paper flower and jewellery making and a spanish acoustic guitar player!! It was a fabulous time we had laughs shared stories of how we got into our craft and sang some x-mas songs Felis Navidad! This will be done again in the new year holly molly. My tip to you create a community with the things you like to do. Join a running group, acoustic jam sessions, form an archery group or join a club!

IT's Friday

IT's Friday! My favourite topic food! I browse restaurant menu and I have a pretty good cookbook collection. I can talk food all day long. I finish breakfast I am already thinking about lunch and diner! I must say I am getting a little tired of the meat so it's always a good time to change you protein and veggies when you are not excited about the  food. A tip for you Ideal protein people : I use the restricted items as my week-end treat! I keep the puddings for the week day I am always looking at how to add more zing to the food!

Breakfast I had the vanilla drink I hadn't had this in a long time and I really quite enjoyed the flavour and the texture! It kept me satisfied for a long time after 12 which is not normal for me. I also had an extra coffee which probably suppressed my hunger as well.

Lunch I had a beautiful piece of salmon with fresh veggie salad.
I get an organic food box 1x a week and the green mix is great it's every bite is a surprise there's even horseradish greens in the mix surprise yasabi bite here and there! I added a little lemon and sea salt and 1tsp of oil for my dressing!

SUpper I had a broccoli frittata! 4 cups of chopped steamed broccoli with 6 beaten eggs in a glass pyrex pie plate topped with coloured bell peppers salt and pepper ( I added a touch of cheese after it was heated through not on protocol). Cooked in the oven at 350degree for about 45 min. I ate 1/2 of it and it was awesome!

My snack I made a peppermint tea with the strawberry wafers.
To make this more of an experience put your snack on a nice small plate so you'll eat it more slowly and have more of a relaxing experience with your evening treat!

Have a great day

Chocolate coffee and lemon meringue pudding makes day phase two great!

Today was great day to try new things!

I was running out the door and I had to finish my chocolate drink and I though why not put this in my hot coffee? It was delicious and if you're a person who likes lattes this time of year add the vanilla or chocolate drink to your coffee and add some spice :cinnamon/ginger/cardamon. Whatever you like!

One week Ideal protein quick start creates a huge weight loss

Success! I was on track no deviation no (delicious treat) could get in my way. It is craft season and the holidays are coming! This means that there are lots of opportunity to say no thank you to sweets and savoury treats. A lot of my friends and family have made great changes in their eating habits this year and it is wonderful to see everyone healthier, happier and sexier! When you feel good about your choices you not only pat yourself on the back but there is some pride of self that you are reaching your goal! You can also inspire the people around you!

A life long trait for myself is the reward/punishment of eating food. I have done this pattern since I was a teenager and now that I am aware I am more observant and kind to myself.

Normally I make my husband very aware that I am on a (diet-I hate that word), cleanse, lifestyle change, regime etc. Yesterday he would ask would you like a chocolate and I would laugh and he would immediately remember Oh my gosh honey I totally forgot I am sorry. So to me this means I haven't been so winy about this process. Yes I have not been very pleasant because of the emotions that have come up but it is never about the food (for me).

The total loss for 1 week has been 10 lb. (ok my scale isn't the greatest so I will see when I get to work what the digital scale says).
A few things to remember I will probably gain 3-5 lb. on average once I start eating carbs again. I will be going into phase two tomorrow to slowly introduce my own protein at lunch time for 14 days.

The goal for me was to help me make better choices and eliminate sugar cravings. Lets not forget I want to wear my skinny jeans over the holidays!!

FOod:

Crispy cereal for breakfast with a touch of cinnamon

lunch on the go I had the Ideal protein fruit yogurt. It was really great it has been a long time since I've had it and I liked it for a lunch time meal. I had a large salad at Sobey's with a boiled eggs, ham, bacon and caesar dressing( I always look at the label it had the least amount of sugar and carb it was not a calorie wise dressing they add more sugar to replace the fat)

Supper I made a eggplant, green pepper and zucchini stir fry with pork. I added a little black bean sauce to give it a little flavour (not appropriate for phase 1 really because of the sugar)

For my snack I had the vanilla pudding

Have a great day
