LEt's talk about food meditation for the Holidays!

IT's almost christmas it's time to make a plan for what you might be doing and eating. What do you really desire to eat this time of year! Have control and take things step by step. If you really must have that bite of grand-ma's sugar cookies have one but enjoy every moment of that food. Don't just hoover it and then you decide that wasn't enough and eat a tray.

-FOOD meditation is great to do during the holiday's. No you don't sit on a cushion and chant.
Start with looking at the food really see it the texture, colour, smell the aroma. You are present with the food. Take a bite and feel the texture really taste the food. Is it as delicious as it appears? You will be more satisfied and full using this technique. You can use this technique anytime!

-There are statistics that suggest that you get a high of off food for the first 3 bites and then you flatline. So nothing will taste as good as the first 3 bites. If you are like me your always chasing the sugar dragon :D
So try one cookie/snack at a time and enjoy it. Have a moment with it.
If your at a party and there's a lot going on loud music, lots of conversation pay attention to your food consumption because you might be eating more because your not paying attention to the food or if you feel uncomfortable during a social situation......(anyone visiting their inlaws)

-Bring healthy snacks to share with the group veggie trays always help me. Eat before you go so you don't overindulge it's a good thing turkey is the main event so load up on the good stuff and bring a salad to share :D

-Most important whatever you do be kind to yourself if you have something not on protocol don't trow in the towel and binge on food. Pat yourself on the back and keep your head up. Enjoy the food and do not demonize your decisions. You always have a choice in the mater and you are in control this holiday!
Do some family activities outdoors together!
