I like to make my gifts for people I started knitting 11 years ago but in the last 2 years I've really developed great skills and it's made me more patient and my hands busy if I am watching TV instead of eating. Knitting gives me great joy! It is important to find something you like to do that has that affect and uses your creativity and allows you to express yourself! A friend of mine who is 73 does photography and she is so passionate about it and she is extremely talented! It's great to look back and think about what you enjoyed as a child most likely you would still enjoy these things like painting, playing an instrument!
On Sunday I planned a holiday craft day this was the best craft day I could have imagined!! I made a veggie tray with everything but carrots that I could eat (broccoli, yellow pepper, celery). I set the event for 1:30 to 4:30 so we wouldn't focus on food. Invited anyone who was interested and was making something for christmas. We had a crocheter, a lumor, 3 knitters, a beader, paper flower and jewellery making and a spanish acoustic guitar player!! It was a fabulous time we had laughs shared stories of how we got into our craft and sang some x-mas songs Felis Navidad! This will be done again in the new year holly molly. My tip to you create a community with the things you like to do. Join a running group, acoustic jam sessions, form an archery group or join a club!
